    IEEE 1394 & Vista

    Hi,

Does anyone have any guidance to offer on compatibility issues with IEEE1394 devices and Vista?

I've got a Sony TRV30E DV camera. When I try to import vid via the IEEE 1394 Firewire connection into Movie Maker on my Vista PC, MM locks up.

When I do the same on my kid's XP Pro machine it works fine.

I thought it was a dodgy Vista install (I'd upgraded) but on the WE I did a fresh install and I've still got the same problem. Now I'm thinking I have a Vista non-compliant IEEE 1394 device.

    Cheers.

    Thanks Guys.

It appears there's only 4 IEEE 1394 devices approved for Vista 32. All from Pinnacle.
