This simulator in the latest release requires some considerable computing power.
But the previous release is OK for the last gen of machines, like my Athlon 3400 with an FX5500 graphics card and 1 GB of RAM.

This is a very interesting simulator for those interested in anything space or flight. Fly your own shuttle, build your own space station, build your own solar systems, bases on the Moon or Mars. Fly a NASA chase plane beside the shuttle as it lands.

And it is free. As in free beer.

If you don't have a fast CPU with at least 2 Gb of RAM, and at least a "7600" nVidea card or ATI equivalent, then use the older "050216" version.

I'm running an Athlon 3400+, 1Gb of DDR RAM, nVidea FX5500GT graphics card.
On my machine, the newest "06" version, staggers at 1.02 seconds per frame. The 05 version is OK. Not as intensive.
The planetary models use NASA "Blue Marble" mapping, at "level 10", (what ever that is). And the Hubble star maps.
All I know is my Athlon 3400+\nVidea 5500 mix, can't cope above level7.
