    Bad news mate Hopefully the INC GOD can save some stuff. I use timemachine and it's great. It nags you if you haven't done a backup for ten days

    time machine rocks, as does an external hdd connected to the airport - remote backup's happen at night for my powerbook....

    all my photos I rip from memory card -> Powermac, then import form there to my powerbook.

    I have 2 copies on 2 machines and upload to my dreamhost account at the same time (offsite backup) Dreamhost are cheap for bucket loads of offsite storage

    Also, tell itunes to back up your photos onto your ipod. I won't delete photos off a camera unless it's on at least two places. IE... on computer and ipod at least.
