    sorting vista downloads

    for one reason or another

I an not using the vista preferred download folder,,
but one on another drive,,(mainly a space issue)

I would like to sort these files by file type,, etc avi, mpg, jpeg, etc etc,,

I get strange options like AUTHOR, or sometimes none at all!

by the way,, I have just discovered the wonderful new SEARCH system vista uses,,
    its GREAT!

If you right-click on the name of the detail in the folder you want to search by (name, genre, date, etc.) a box will drop down that gives you options for your search. Click the ones you like and unclick the ones you don't. And for fun click on More down at the bottom and get lost in a sea of choices!!

I hope that's what you're looking for. If not, or if I've been too vague, please just let me know!

    Have a great day!

Is the heading you want listed in the drop down box? I just looked at mine and I do see "Type" but not "File Type." I am going to research this a bit more. Damn Vista!!

    Thanks!

    Holly
