    browser problem!!

when i connect to Google and type in anything to search for I get the site I'm after as the result but the web address doesn't match eg. type BOM and the search result is the Weather bureau page but the web address is something unrelated, wtf is going on???Websites I have in favourites still work fine, any ideas??? I have run avast and nothing was found. As another example, if I search for AULRO.Com in Google I get this site as a result, If I just type AULRO I get the same search result but the web address is some shopping site.

Browser hijack, run a spyware check - adaware, spybot, prevx.

Also try an online virus scan Norton Security Scan Welcome Screen

I had a similar issue - sometimes when you boot up your system, spyware or addware or a trojan type virus may be activated and loaded. Spybot cannot remove these if loaded as part of the OS. I needed to run spybot in advanced mode - then look at what is running from the list and delete any suspicious items, reboot and the issue was fixed. Immunise your system afterwards and check for updates to Spybot regularly.

Hope you can sort the issue.

If all else fails try 'HijackThis'

    TrendSecure | TrendMicro HijackThis Overview

HijackThis will not fix anything automatically, instead it will create a log file of certain setting on your PC. That log file must then be interpreted manually to isolate and fix the cause of you problems.

look here for a tutorial in using HijackThis.

HijackThis Tutorial - How to use HijackThis to remove Browser Hijackers & Spyware

And look here for where you can get some expert help to interpret the log file HijackThis creates. On posting your log file there, a specific person will be assigned to assist you but it will take a few days for a response because of demand.

BleepingComputer.com -> HijackThis Logs and Malware Removal

Or look here if you want to try an online automated interpretation of the HijackThis log file.

More to this, I downloaded Malwarebytes and ran it, all fixed for free, it found two "trojans" that the other programs hadnt and deleted them,be interesting to see how long it lasts.

Interesting, yes, it lasted 12 hours and the problem is back.I can ID the infected files using Prevx but it wont fix them without me signing up to the product, so being a tightarse how can I track them down and kill them myself.I'm not ignoring some of the supplied answers already given, I just dont understand them!

Once you've got the name of them you should be able to do a search and find a removal tool.

Symantec has a list of files and individual tools to download and remove them, for example.
