I've run XP with 128meg RAM albeit on faster processors, it's not all that fast though.

Have been given a Compaq Armada M700. (P3 800Mhz)
It has XP Pro installed but only 128mb of ram.
It goes through the motions of starting up then just freezes.
Could it be not enough ram ????

At what point does it freeze? Can you start in safe mode?
I've run XP on P3 with similar ram, so can be done.

No, its one that he got from his workplace when they upgraded their stuff.
He couldnt get it working so gave it to me to have a go.
He musnt have realised that he was using the wrong power supply, which i have now sorted and at least have it booting up and getting into windows.
The original plan was to format the disk and run linux on it but when i saw it had xp pro on it, thought i wold give that a go.
Might have to go back to plan A.
Its a pain because it doesnt have a CD, only a floppy drive
