    AutoCAD Title Block

    Hi all,

I am doing a uni course this semester that requires me to learn a small amount of AutoCAD. Never used it before but dad is going to help out being that he is an engineer.

He has requested though that I try and source a title block so we don't have to make it.
He said it can be layered in the paper space and you make the drawing in the drawing space and you can make it fit the space you want but I guess you would know that so I'll stop rambling.

Anyway if anyone has an A3 title block that looks like the one in the pic below or knows where I can get one then that would be great.

Any other advice would be great too.

    Thanks

The AutoCAD package should have a whole swag of title blocks in it. At the top left hand side of the screen, below the "File" dropdown menu is an icon that looks like a blank sheet of paper, this is the new drawing icon, click on that and a dialogue box should appear. The dialogue box should be titled "Select Template" The "look in:" drop down menu should be on "Template" and there you will find a list of title blocks. Select the one you want.
    I hope this helps.

    Cheers, Mick.

Thanks Killer. Will check it out when I get home. I wonder why he didn't think of that He uses it every day! Maybe I misunderstood him.

Chucaro not too keen to sign up to another forum just for one question. Plus it would probably take me all semester just to figure the new forum out

    Justin,
If you still need help with this, drop me a line.
I'm a fulltime CAD draughter specialising in AutoCAD (22yrs experience) and I can knock one up exactly how you would like probably within a few minutes.

Just let me know if you want the same as the picture, or of any modifications/extras you might want (editable blocks, text, logos, etc)

I can then just email it down.
Leave it with you.....no cost obviously.

    Cheers,

Never used autocad so I wouldn't have a clue - but - Kierens offer is the type of thing that makes this forum so good.

Just had a look through the templates on AutoCAD and none appear to be the same or even close enough to it unfortunately.

Kieren if you have the time to do one of these title blocks up that would be fantastic!
All the assignments need to be in A3 and the title block needs to be the same as in the picture.
When the outlines are done do you just type into the boxes in text fields?

    Very new to this.
Going to get a crash course lesson all of next weekend. Wish me luck!

Yeah, no probs, I'll get on to it today for you.
I'll compile and send it down via email with some instructions on what to do with it. I'll base it on the picture above....

    What version ACAD you using?

    Cheers,

    Thanks.

The uni uses 2009 but I think Dad is using 2000.

    Sorry for the delay mate.
Unfortunately "real work" gets in the way of the fun stuff far too much!!
Have just emailed you with some drawings.

    All the best......
