    Silent movies

    There is no sound on youtube vids.

    everything else sounds fine.

    I have uninstalled/reinstalled the adobe flash player plug-in,,
    have ticked the 3rd party storage option in Global settings,
    nothings muted,


    oh, vista64 sp2

    I had this problem to, i found out after a while it was just the sound togle thing down the bottam right hand corner of the youtube vid
    Sounds stupid i know
    But you never know it could be your problem to.

    Copyright laws are the case on most of them Pete, Youtube are deleting soundtracks because of it, Metalica sound tracks are the most deleted.

    Think I gave up and bought a laptop.

    The sound works fine on the laptop.

    So, it's a workaround.

    I assume speakers are plugged in correctly etc.

    In control panel open the "Sound and Audio Devices" icon. Click the "Audio" Tab and look for the "Sound playback" frame. Make sure the "Default device" is set to your sound card or on board sound device, ie "Realtek HD audio output" or whatever for you system.
