Upgrading to Windows 7 or Snow Leopard?

i'm not sure what beta version of 7 it was, however my brother, after converting all 4 of his PC's to win 7, discovered that the operating system was powering down the system after 45min running time. He discovered that this 'feature' was built into the beta version and it kicked in after a few months use.

No , I don't run a dinosaur, and yes ubuntu is less than half its size, and yet does all I need it to do. Does Win7 need to be several Gb in size? Saying it boots a lot quicker than Vista isn't really a ringing endorsement is it.

Yesss.....homegroup. What a winner!

If you have an older PC that's hasn't got enough grunt for Win7, you can play around with something called OSX86, which tricks your PC into thinking it's a Mac, and then you can load OSX.

I saw it on a PC where I was working one day and it was very impressive. Sounds like you have to get involved in Torrents etc, but might extend the life of some older hardware.

Was odd to see Mac stuff running on a PC though!
