Thanking you for the link Capri V6 .... as for the capabilities of the vid card

This is the biggest & fattest card I have ever seen
As far as I'm aware, it's the latest release from Nvidia
It has 2 power supply input sockets just to run the thing // I had to upgrade my power supply, just to run it

Have you tried ditching the HDMI connection and sticking to a VGA cable?

My laptop can output to either of my LCD TV's with a vga cable. One is 720p the other is full1080.

with one of these: Google Image Result for http://www.pothasttechnologies.com/ebay/cables/images/DVI_to_VGA_adapter.jpg

    You are a GENIOUS

I HAVE BEEN, AND HAD GOTTEN LOST IN THE TECHNOLOGY

    I just rehooked up a standard VGA cable ... & up it came ... full 1920 x 1080

Can SEE all the CAD lines / clear as mud

I will happily take any abuse from others that had hinted at the same solution

    Thanking everyone ....

Just went looking at my settings. My monitor is now set to 1920 x 1080 throug the VGA cable. Grafics settings also claim 1920 x 1080. Will check TV tonight.

    Enjoy your screen George

After been thru the mill, Yep ... shouldn't take a high end card to run it ...
it just turns out that it was a lack of knowledge, and the Toshiba LCD throwing me off track, as it only has a PC VGA resolution of 1360x768?

What the TV sales folk don't know, is the various resolutions for the different input sockets that these screens run at ...The Samsung is true 19208x1080 thru-out

I'm OK with the high end card as it has sped up the programs I use ... now to upgrade to a Pentium Quadcore

I always look up the stats myself. Been in to many stores over the years where I know more on the it, tv and audio gear than they do.
