    adobe premier cs3 and HDD camcorder

    I think its time for me to save for a new camcorder

    it has to be a hi def one I wont settle for anything less now I was hanging out in the hope I could get HD that takes tape but with out spending about 2grand minimum this isn;t going to happen so I might just have to despite me not really wanting to buy a HDD camcorder.

    Has anyone got one that they use with adobe premier cs3...is it easy to upload to this program?

    I know at one stage studio wouldn't play the game when I tried to hook up a mates camcorder because it had a hard drive.

    so i'm just wondering if anyone has had any issues


    I'm really sad I still have 2 /3 tapes here full of kakadu footage I can't get off the tapes unless I pay 40bux a tape to put to DVD which is a rip considering I wanted to edit it all anyway and would probably chuck half of the footage on it

    That was the reason

    It was attached to the car when Ian splashed through a number of puddles that appeared to be salty or have minerals in them or something I was filming and he forgot and it destroyed the camera.....
    That was crossing William creek road

    So I have a fair bit of footage but no camera to get the video off

    Your tapes should be playable by any other camera that takes tapes.

    They say Tapes are a thing of the past nearly.. suppose it depends on your budget. Sony PMW EX1 is a very good camera, as is the HVR s270p, but maybe too pricey, i cany comment on consumer camcorders, but with regards to your Premier editing software and its compatabilty with consiumer camerams, maybe check out Adobes tech site, When Prem Pro 6 came out, 3 years ago?? i was editing Dv/DVCam, and it was fine then got a HVR Z79 ( which is HD ) and upgraded to pr0 6.5, and all that worked just fine.

    You could however, get a very good second hand semi pro camera, Dv .

    If it is MiniDV, I'd be happy to capture and burn to DVD/s. I'm in Brisvegas though so you'd have to trust Aust Post.

    thanks for the offer...some other kind member also offered...

    but I will gratefully decline. my concern is if there is any salt etc on the tape I would have concerns by playing the tape that it may in fact damage the heads of the camcorder.

    I'm scouring ebay at the moment and have also put an offer in on a scrappy looking camera. it doesn't have to look good just needs to work. I'm hoping for a 100bux if I can get the footage off and it still works afterwards then great I can use it as a second cam to put to the car off road..

    if I can get the footage off one tape but then gets busted due to the condition of the second tape that was exposed to water than I haven't broken anyones camera, a part from my POS.

    lets just see if the ebay excepts my offer
