Acer aspire One D250 (mini laptop)

I have found these Acer laptops for $388 plus $50 cashback from Acer. Just wondering if anyone has one and, well are they any good for the price. I plan on using it for Ozi Explorer, to get rid of Cd's in the car, and to steal free wifi wherever I am.

If I get it, I will rip out the cd stacker which is on the passenger side tranny tunnel, and fab an ally frame to mount it so it doesn't go through the windscreen...

    Here's the Link:

    Cheers,

doesnt sound like a bad deal.
have a look at aussieaub's laptop mount its pretty sturdy and cost about $90 I think.

Whereever you put it bear in mind the angle of the sun its a bugger to read the screen if the sun is directly shining on it

I have one (not sure exactly which model) as a work computer. It has been really handy, with only one failure.
Once it wouldn't start up, the fan would run and the power light would come on, but that was all.
A quick google search (on another computer!!) found loads of information regarding the fault and a simple fix. You can download a couple of files to a usb stick and reboot the computer from the files on the USB stick.
All of our work ones now have a spare USB stick with the files loaded kept with them for that eventuality. I know it has happened to at least two of our other ones, so it isn't a rare problem.

Other than that it has been good, bearing in mind that the screen and keyboard are quite small.
