    Simultaneous audio output Windows7

Running Win7 on homemade HTPC but unable to get simultaneous audio outputs. SPDIF or optical or analog but only one at a time! With WinXP I could get any combination. Googled it & apparently Micro$oft decided in their wisdom to drop simultaneous audio..pretty dumb when Media Centre is part of OS. Roll on SPI

Is it an onboard soundcard or a stand alone one? I would have thought it could be controlled via manufacturers drivers rather than the Windows ones.

Onboard. I have latest drivers, but still have to disconnect all outputs except the one I want to use. Couldn't see anything in audio utility.
Even on Microsoft forum users are complaining of this issue, so I'm sure that a Patch will be released soon or addressed in SP1.
