    swaybar bushes

    Yep that's the new baby.

Now sits 60mm high at the front. 50mm higher at the rear and got a new steering damper at the same time. Drives so much better.

Now to see how deep the pockets are before the minister of war and finances starts to whinge. I've got an image in my head of what I want it to look like.

On another point I'm in need of - according to the suspension guys - front and rear swaybar 1/2 bushes (just over 19mm from memory) These guys are pretty good and have a fair bit to do with the local land rover club sponsoring them for some time so i trust their judgment. My question is are these readily available and if so from where? and where can I find them?

    Thanks guys

Couldn't you just remove the sway bars, like most others?

    i guess, no reason I couldn't.
What's involved? I'm not the most mechanically minded but learning and willing to give anything a go.

removing swaybars is as simple as undoing the bolts

However the tradeoff is more body roll when cornering, and in some models it can be to a frightening level!

Time for a bit of an update.

nothing overly exciting, sway bars are off and with the stiffer springs I got the difference is negligible. I'm eying off some new tires and have been pricing some Cooper STC's at 245/75/r16 which i think will be big enough and aggressive enough to cope with what I want off road as well as being a daily driver. Also started to change the oils starting with the engine, thought I had a good look at it when buying it but what i drained out today show's that one can never be to careful when looking at a second hand car. This stuff was black as a the ace of spades. So a new filter and a nice top up of Penrite later and the journey in to the world of landy's continues. love the learning experience hehe

to all those who have provided advice many thanks (esp to Phoenix, but then after 25 odd years of knowing him he'll give the best advice he can to anyone and if he don't know it he'll point you in the right direction)

    cheers guys and gals

Look at BFG KM2.. Agressive, but very liveable from all reports...

And a better tyre then the above IMO...

For a less agressive, touring based tyre with excellent road manners..
Consider a 5-rib ATZ they come in the same size.

I am actually quite a fan of the coopers as I have them but having said that, the new KM2's are the goods.
My mate on his beloved Patrool just got them, well 5000km's ago and on same track they just hang in there and seem to clean themselfes quicker as you drive along.
Noise inside cabin is very similar.
    Heads up for the KM2's.

well after all the hunting around I think i'm going to get myself a set of 5 15" dynamica black rims and maxxis bighorns at 31/10.5/R15 and will still be paying less then for a set of 5 coopers of bfg km2s
