Fuel problems disco 1
Hi Guys
I have a problem with the wifes disco its a 97 series 1, I just replaced the ignition switch in it as the daughter broke the key off in the barrel, and could not get it started, no fuel was getting to the fuel rail. I checked everything and found that no power was getting to the pump.I played around with it and ended up pushing on the safety swith on the fire wall behind the washer tank, and it started. now the switch had not popped up at all and it all looked in order. Today I am going to change the relays on the kick panel drivers side hoping this will fix the problem. Has anyone had this problem with the safety swithes?

Check the plugs in the cable to the fuel pump, one under the back cargo area carpet (unscrew hatch) and the other plug in thre same cable near the rear muffler. Look for brown melted plastic around the pins. A common problem. You may need a new pump if yours is using excess current.
