Rear sway bar on Disco 1

    Gudday

My 200tdi Disco 1 does not have the rear sway bar. I have found that I just don't go so hard core off road these days and would like it to not roll so much on the highway. It has a 2" lift fitted.

With this 2" lift, is it just a case of getting an old sway bar off one of you who has removed yours and installing it?

    Ta.

If you have lifted and maybe put stronger springs on, then you have upset the balance of the car anyway.
IMHO the Front sway bar has by far the most effect and the rear bar changes the balance of oversteer vs understeer. I found my RRC to be too twitchy with the rear bar on.
In any case you have already drastically changed the roll stiffness so be careful.

No. Later cars had brackets welded to the chassis & axle casing for the sway bar. You might have a suitable axle casing (?) but you won't have the chassis brackets.

Your best bet would be an aftermarket kit.

BUt to reiterate, it is the FRONT sway bar that reduces body roll.

The rear reduces understeer caused by the addition of the front bar.
