Bare essentials for 2" Lift? + best install method

I can honestly say though after fitting 2" extended I think 4" is over kill, I would be concerned about them snagging...I know many use them and they dont.

But I was concerned with the extra length of the 2" extended they really looked like they were going to snag in the front

if you have access to one.... precompress the springs in a press before putting the compressors on the new springs and put the compressors on the old springs BEFORE you lift the vehicle.

likewise when you put the new springs in lower the vehicle onto the springs and then undo the compressors.

sorry mate, i was talking about my rear brake line, it has a nice gentle loop now even when fully extended, it may be longer than i need, but i have had no problem of snagging

i can see what you mean with the fronts snagging if they were alot longer

Ok got 3 out of the 4 corners done last night. Problems I could see so far is drivers side front brake line appears to be ok-ish.....on full lock to the right it will get pretty tight so I have bent the inner panel out with the hard line comes through to give it more play on full lock. This will get me through the weekend at which point I should be able to really assess if I need the longer lines.

Second problem is the driveshaft hit the front sway bar on full droop. I'll whip up some 10mm spacer plates the space swaybar down and hope its enough.

Rear doesn't appear to have gained any extra droop, possibly because I've kept the sway bar connected?

Fun and games....I should finish it tonight and cross my fingers it drives nicely!

Job should take around 60 minutes... But do some pre-work..

Go around each night spraying the threads on the bolts with CRC, Lanotec or similar... Will make them easier to remove when u come to do the job.

Front - Undo the top bolt on the shock, then the lower, drop the axle and pull the spring out. Now drop the shock out and then reverse to refit...

No need to pull the shock tower.

How do you pull the front springs out with the shock still in place, Regards Frank.

Fitted 10mm spacer plates under swaybar mounts at front and its still not enough. Driveshaft still dropping onto swaybar.

Also made a 2" bracket to raise rear brake t-piece which was definately not going to be long enough at full droop.


Now I've run out of time so it will get tested as it over the long weekend.
If I dont drop the front drivers side wheel too much all should be sweet.

Those shocks are much longer than +2" if youre getting those issues!!!

I was thinking along similar lines. I was going for a fairly simple lift and its turning out to be a bit more extreme than ever intended.

Strange you are having those issus, i have a 3" lift in mine and havent touched anything apart from springs and shocks.

Who knows whats going on, I searched the forum high and low on ****ible problems before emabrking on this and thought it would be relatively straight forward.

I'll get some pics of the setup after the long weekend and post up.
