how in gods name do you keep the rocket covers tighten up so it will stop pooring oil out when it slightly lose

after rodding my 4 core she went back to been cool but have since notice when in trafic she gets a little hot even tho the gauge says normal
any ideas?

after getting hot sitting at the lights take off in first or any other gear for that matter when it gets to 1500-2000rpm it **** farts and carrys on like it has vapor lock or lack of feul or somthing along them lines
any ideas?

is it just my disco or do all have seirous back lash in the gear box?
i find it worse on gas

what front brake pads do you guys run?? im currently running the bendex with titanuim strip on the rear but now it time to do the front
if i can get any info on any of these that be great

i replaced the vac advance pic one up from rover craft in ferntree gully
the back lash in the gear box is more so when in gear
like pulling the hand brake on and the car rocking back and furth same princeable but in the gear box
ok, did you find the vac advance easy to fit? not sure whether to try it myself or let the garage do it?
The gear thing is obviously something different. Good luck tracing it

If it has an R380 gearbox and hasn't had the transfer case input gear mod, then the gearbox main shaft and transfer case input gear will need replacing. The new input gear is cross-drilled to lubricate the splines.
Most failed at 160,000-180,000km.

only problem is trying to hook it back on in side, i actually took out the junk in the top to see in rathere then tak it all out no worries

I would consider replacing the rubber gasket .. as it has gone hard with age
so what your telling me is i need to change them every 6- 12 months

Either bugs blocking the radiator = remove the mounting bolts & clean the front of it with a hose ... or is your viscous fan working?? ... Do the Viscous test ...
when i had it roddedin jan they also cleaned the flutes

Does this happen on Petrol only? ... As I remember that you had black gunk in the fuel tank from the last time .... If not then ...
Check that the vacy holds vacuum ... Also make sure that the black vacy hose is not blocked going into the plentium .. and that the plentium hole is not blocked
The other thing to do is fire up the motor in a dark shed when warmed and lift the bonnet and see if the spark leads are giving a fireworks show ... = new leads
ok this happenes now on gas as well gas is worse these days
plent isnt bloked but will look more into the vac system
plugs and leads are 11-12 months old now when it gets dar i will fire it up
the last time was no fire works

yeah ok i have no idea wh at gear box it is 1995 5 speed onto a 3.9Lv8i
whats it worth to fix??? i know to rebuild its around $2000
