Thanks for the reply, I have had the IAC off and know of the two nipples on the iac, the bottom one goes to the fuel regulator, the top one (which has a valve - see pic 5) goes where?

Greg.... btw when i take that hose off, the idle or engine does not change at all.
Did you clean the IAC and where it seats in the back of the plenum, some carb cleaner in the back and the IAC itself should do, the large(r) hose goes to the throttle body, did you check if the Vac. advance is working by sucking on the hose, Regards Frank.
Hose in pic 5 goes into the dashboard somewhere. It is a low flow-rate so pulling it off will make little difference to the engine, but will affect any vacuum controls in the car.Quote:

Do you have 2 ports on the Vac. canister on the dissy, the one closest to the dissy body should have a blanking plug, the outside one (furthest from dissy body) is connected to the plenum. Does your model have the hose from the IAC to the throttle body (10 to 12mm I.D., Regards Frank.

My dissy is as you described. The IAC has a hose from the IAC to the throttle body about 10 - 12 mm as seen in pic 1.

1 The idle should SPEED UP if you suck on the vacuum hose with the engine running. As above , are there 2 nipples on the vacum canister. You may have the wrong one.Quote:

2 When you reset the base idle did you block off the 2 sides of the IAC?? If you did then you have an air leak . Just a thought seeing everthing else seems stuffed up, have a look at the T piece in the hose from the oil separator to the throttle body. It is not a normal T piece as it should have a small/tiny hole in the small nipple that the pipe to the plenum goes on.
