Hi All
I have just purchased a 97 Discovery and am in the process of getting it ready for a road worthy and registration.
My problem is that when the wipers are turned on in the intermittant position they move about 90 eg and then stop, they will stay like this for a couple of seconds or a couple of minutes, also when they are switched of when in normal operation they just stop with out returning to the park position.
Any Suggestions as the road worthy mech says this is afault that has to be fixed before a RWC can be issued
hi have the same problem with my 95 model coming up for RWC apart from the switch on the motor is there a relay anywhere to control the timing of the sweeps?
The timing of the sweeps for intermittant wipes is set by the "multifunction" board under the steering column (or thereabouts). Mine burnt out so my mechanic hard-wired around the intermittant wipers so at least I can have off, on and fast.

Hi Guys
I have located the relay for the wipers but it all seems OK
The Intermitant side is controlled by the "Multifunction board" but I cant seem to locate it.
Does any body know where the Mythical Multifunction board resides and is it repairable??

The best I can offer is that it doesn't just work on the wiper circuits, but several. Unfortunately I send my Disco into the mechanic rather than get my brain twisted up in the circuitry.
