    overcharge

    is it possible for my 300tdi alternator to over charge?
    volt meter is reading 25 volts on the battery while car is idleing.
    missus had a flat battery last night, jump start went ok

    it certainly is, 24v at idle with a battery hookedup doesnt sound realistic though.

    Try another meter as well. 24v is not going to do any of the bulbs any good.

    Dual battery system? me thinks somthing aint right!

    some days I am as dumb as a post..

    change the battery in the meter.... one of mine over reads on voltages when the batteries start going flat.
