    sway bar disconnects

hey all, My mod'd D1 loves to drag its door handles when cornering on road Doesn't bother me a great deal but was wondering if anyone out there has custom made sway bar - disconects for a D1? Haven't really been able to come up with something that is strong yet quick and easy to disconnect/reconnect offroad. and tucks away out of harms way when not in use. Any pics or ideas would be greatly appreciated - adam

I've seen kits for jeeps, but i've not looked for Disco ones personally, although i've been looking in to it lately to see if I can get disconnects for my after market sway bars (early disco which didn't have them originally). I suspect I'll just un bolt the whole thing if I want to use the disco without them.

At the moment I am looking into it myself.
I think if i use a clip pin setup like they do on the jeeps it would work.
When I work it out ill post it up so you can see.

X- Engineering in the UK have come up with a good idea.

Designed for the Defenders, but I wonder whether it would fit onto the Disco's. Anyone know what is different?

    EDIT:

"We have found that the kit fits Land Rover 110, 127 & 130 vehicles. Customers have fitted them to Discovery and Range Rovers by drilling an extra hole in one of the brackets. We have comissioned a new bracket incorporating this change which should be ready by August 6th 2010"
    Cheers,

    Ben.

250 pounds is a lot...however if they would drop for a group buy (which I'm sure they would they were going to for the disc handbrake) then I would be interested,,
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......

Yep, expensive hobby, but its one of the best ways I've seen of achieving a quick disconnect I've seen

I just paid the money and brought the x brake, seems like a good unit, although I believe Ben has had a little trouble with his, wonder how he's gone with it....Mine is working a treat sitting on the bench, should see the centre diff in over the weekend and the handbrake stuff fitted up

    Thumbs up

awsome idear by using a hub lock.
I might have to experament with that and see what i can come up with.
If I use a hub lock I would put a push/pull cable in the cab for easier and quicker disconection/reconection.
give me a few weeks and I might be able to come up with a cost affective way on doing this.
