diff centre and axles
So there is plenty of talk but not much info of late where to get the parts from and if the people are still in business.
I have 96 disco v8 as far as i know its all standard.
People have spoken about detriots and dont think its what I want. So that leaves only few other options.
My type of driving will bush tracks, creek runs and mud
Could go the darkside with toyo conversion
but no one seems to talk about costs.
The other options that Im interested in is
ARB Air locker - do you do both or just the rear. With this upgrade do you then change the axles to HD and the CVs?
Trutrack - again do you do both and I assume with this option you have to upgrade axles and CVs.
So where is the best place locally to source and also overseas for these items.
any help would be great thanks

This has been discussed MANY times. All the suppliers are still in business, just that Mal from Maxi-Drive retired, and the business has been split between Hi-Tough Eng. - which make the axles, and MR Auto. - which make the lockers.
It is up to you if you just fit a rear or both lockers - depends on your needs and preferences. The only thing that isn't a good idea is to fit an auto locker to the front.
You should already have 24 spline diffs front and rear, so an axle upgrade is not essential, but well advised, as the rover 24 spliners are made of cheese.
Options are:
Closest to home -
Jack McNamara - Differential Specialists
Make their own (very well designed) lockers and axles (also a bolt-in toy conversion).
HTE make very good axles and flanges:
Hi-Tough Engineering Pty Ltd
Address: U3/7 Ryecroft St, Carrara, QLD, 4211
Phone number: (07) 55304123
And MR Auto make Maxi-Drive lockers
mrautomotive - Maxidrive
Keith at Rovertracks makes axles and can supply true-tracks and detroits

Then there is of course ARB - though you would need to buy axles from one of the above.
There are also a few UK suppliers for axles:
Ashcroft Transmissions
It would also be a good idea to upgrade the front CVs. The best/strongest options are those sold by Rovertracks and Ashcroft IMHO.
