Rear door latch
I've searched and found nothing on the fix for disco rear door (tailgate) that has become very stubborn to open. Sometimes you have to give it 20 goes before it opens, me thinks the locking mechanism is shagged.
Anyone?

My Disco use to do the same thing. On a good day it would open and on a bad day i wanted to bash the **** out of it.I just took the trimming off it and had a play around with it.In the end it turned out to be a spring which was stuffed.I ended up using a return spring off a carby i had and worked fine. You can also try putting the key in the lock and turning it a little while you open the door.Worked for awhile with mine as well.

There is a guy on UK eBay that sells the springs (also sells the door trim pins that you WILL break if you take the trim off.
Cant recall his name, but I've bought both pins and springs from him and they arrive quickly - no dramas.
