As far as damage to reputation goes, surely the ability of the named mechanic to reply here satisfies the requirement for justice? We are after all rational adults. Surely we can be trusted to make up our own minds based on the available evidence?

Obviously, it's your site, so it's your call. But I think the ability to discuss the merits - or otherwise - of mechanics is a pretty fundamental feature of a vehicle enthusiast site.
