    possibly a stupid question

    im about to do auto tranny service on my 94 d1 v8

    i know how to do it but heres my stupid question.... do i just refill via dipstick or is there a bolt/fill hole some where on the box(like transfer case)??
    i have searched and cant find the answer.

    how much fluid should i expect to refill...

    auto barn reckon 13.5 ltrs... i thought that was heaps.ould be wrong

    Yep, you have to go through the dipstick and I changed mine twice in 500kms.........about 4.5 litres each time. You won't get it all, as there is heaps still in the torque converter, over half.

    Good luck, it's a bit of a pain but worth doing.

    cheers thanks for that, i read up that its a pain to change the filter... i plan on doing it anyway, i already have the filter and gasket kit, but why the second "o" ring??

    The real pain part is taking off the exhaust and crossmember, changing the filter is easy. The second "O" ring is for the other end of the tube to the filter by memory, but it is obvious where it goes once out.
