saying that im not too happy in my KM2's at the minute either![]()
haha so you would think... wanna hear something interesting about cooper... i was talking to an independant tire place (the owner) wasnt trying to sell me anything as he knew i was just there to fix a puncture, but got talking about cooper tires..... COOPER claim to have their 100,000km warranty and what not... but get this.. This is ONLY COVERED ON DRIVING ON CONCRETE ROADS!!!! what the hell right... cooper only cover a warranty on concrete roads which so far i am yet to come across in AUS?? in USA yeh thats what they use,,, but not here.... he was saying it is basically impossible to get them to even care or look twice at him even as the tyre salesman let along a customer... they actually specify in their fine print not covered on gravel or unsealed roads... last time i checked isnt that where a muddy is meant to go? so yeh as i said earlier.. i WILL NEVER by cooper... they are more than happy advertising and selling their stuff, but when it comes down to it..... again each to their own

whats wrong with KM2's??????
going on personal experience with the wifes jeep which runs Mickey Thompson MTZ's in 31x10.5x15 they have been an awesome addition to her 4by on and off road. She even gloated the other day that in a sudden stop on the monash freeway in the wet she managed to avoid using a poor corolla as a brake where with the yokohama at's she was running she would have had no choice. Then in the mud they grip like a 2 week old at the breast and self clean real well. So i can't wait to fit mine when my flares come in.
Then on another note i run the older type bfg muddies on my MK shorty 32x11.5x15 and they are covered in battle scars from chunks ripped off to gouges on the side wall with never a puncture. I've bagged them out at 8psi in the mud and rocks and never rolled them off the bead. To me they are the dutch nuts and it was a toss up between them and the MTZ's (If i could find a set) but then again a mate has a lux with KM2's and he swears by them to the extent that he gets his nose out of joint if you knock them at all (his are new and i think he goes by the magazine reports that we all know are paid for by the companies)
some tyres joints will have the option for you to return at x kms for rotate and pressure check you just pay for rebalance but if your really going to offroad with them your pressures change 15 times a trip and your pre and post trip checks should involve rotation anyway
I have no lift, slight camel cut on the rear (plus z bracket to push guard out) and my 32" mungrels tuck up well. They did hit just under the back doors however a small hammer fixed that!!! Being a TDI auto they do suck the life out of it on the highway.
On the back guards you will find 1 bolt on each side supporting the lower wing. Undo this and make up a sheet metal z shape bracket to push it out by about 30 mm and bolt the new extension in between. I Wouldnt bother if you have flares.

Would be very interested in photos of this arrangement with the rear guards as I am about to get 32" tyres (235/85's most likely) with offset sunny's and I don't have flares. I know the bolt your talking about, but just wondering about the Z bracket?

Just arrived: 2012 D4 3.0 HSE, the journey begins again ;-).
Gone: 98 Disco 300tdi Auto, and some extras
Dont get me wrong mate, i LOVE them aswell lol for a tire they are fantastic. aweseome grip on wet bitchy which is surprising for a muddy, quiet, grip well in mud, as you stated they clear mud well also...
the only thing i dont like... is they are wearing down quick as ****!!! haha like i know they are quite a soft compound (hence the grip) but they are wearing very quickly... quicker than the old mans km1's.. but hey i use a lot of right foot so it was going to be expected... also i would like the side wall lugs to be abit squarer.. i think they would look tougher but damn do them side lugs work!! got me out of some ruts a few times....
but overall i am happy with the km2... great tire! maybe i should just get off the bitumen and into the mud alot more!!!![]()
