Right snow chains for a D1

    G'Day

I was up at Mount Selwyn yesterday and the conditions wern't the best. I had some snow chains that I'd hired with some ski gear but the D1 owners manual states that you need to have landrover approved snow chains, can anyone advise me what landrover approved snow chains are for a D1 as in the manual it states you can damage the brake lines with the wrong type

    Thanks Gazz

Dont quote as the saying goes, but I think what LR mean about chains is that they must be the right size, but in reality what they must be is tight on the tyre you are using. Key to this is to put them on before you need them (! much easier in controlled conditions), make sure they are tight, and then drive a couple of hundred metres and get out and re-tighten - and until you have some experience you may have to do this several times.

If you get any "loose" sounding noises stop and tighten immediately!
