    these injectors fit 98 14cux?

19 LB 19LB DESIGN II FUEL INJECTORS FORD MUSTANG: eBay Motors (item 220667124959 end time Sep-19-10 14:58:01 PDT)

as the title says! am waiting reply from vendor but thought i'd double check here. the gen 111 injectors don't seem to have the recess on the top for the retaining clip whereas these gen 11 do.

    thanks.

oh, forgot to say it's a discovery

Not sure although, although ford injectors definitely fit just not sure of the model.

Off the top of my head, Bee Utey or PhilipA would more than likely know 400HPONGAS would probably know as well I would think,

Probably. The year overlap includes the era of Falcon injectors I like to use as replacements for the D1 engine.

thanks for the replies. i'll take the punt and get them. probably be around $115 door to door for the set of 8. seems a more logical move than having mine reconditioned, especially as they are the older style.

before posting had looked through prior posts and had come across philipA mentioning some yellow top gen 11 he put in his and also referring to ones for the mustang 4.6 which these fit so should be a goer.

less than $100 set of 8 reconditioned injectors delivered!

well, with paypal exchange rate being $0.901432 the set of injectors all up cost $99.83 delivered to my door. maybe we can get rid of the floating rate and fix the exchange rate at the current levels.

Bosch 0280150973 are the best Design II match to Lucas 14CUX injectors and can be sourced brand new for abt $50 each. They supercede the Bosch yellow tops which appear to be the ones in this ebay offering. I would be cautious about many ebay rebuild offerings. Many just replace filter basket and O rings to already used and questionable units. While Design III's are even better they don't have provision for a rail clip however that is not a real problem. You wiill also see Ford C302 (they are made by Denso) being matched to RV8's howver their spray pattern isn’t near as good as Bosch's design II & III's.

Lucas 14CUX injectors by the way get a undeserved bad rap mainly because their moving disc design (modern injectors have fixed disk) requires regular out of motor cleaning which they never or seldom get. Uncleaned their uncontrolled spray does a wonderful job carbonising valves. However that said if very very old the bottom of disk wears and they should be ditched. One of the attractions of the Lucas disc design is it a very quiet injector. After you initialy put in Design II's you will think your valve gear is suddenly going south with extra noise.

others on this forum have bought from there and from what i've read have had good results from this vendor so assume must do acceptable rebuilds.

to quote "All injectors have been tested, ultrasonically cleaned, re-tested, and rebuilt with new filters, pintle caps and o-rings." my knowledge (at this stage at least) doesn't extend to knowing what the pintle caps are.

here's a thread :Fuel economy ugly, shock absorber tips

i run on lpg so petrol is just for starting. works out a whole lot cheaper than getting my old ones cleaned/reco.

these ones are bosch gen 11 (well if they deliver what they're advertising). i am assuming they are Bosch 0280150973 Design II as you mentioned.

btw - if the injector doesn't have the groove for the retaining clip what is the work around? i have read that you just install without the clip, nothing more/nothing less as the fuel rail is bolted down so can't go anywhere. maybe i should have got the gen 111 for an extra $10 - though with lpg not worth worrying about too much.

The Bosch 0280150973 are grey and supercede the Bosch yellow tops in that ebay advert. They come to market from time to time to time new and so you would be lucky to find them rebuilt. Any rebuild that is not flow balanced (that is all injectors are tested to flow at same rate within spec) you are probably buying someones elses junk.

The idea behind rail clips is they hold the injector rigid allowing O rings top and bottom to move and keep a good seal. Without clips the injector tends to also move thus reducing that seal effect. That said the low pressures of < 3bar in a 14CUX rail in practise probably doesn't make too much difference when using Gen III's with no clips.
