Is anyone running 245/75 16's on 16x8 rims?

    Hi

Looking at getting some new rims, but am having trouble getting 16x7's in a good offset. Dynamic no longer make a -25, or even a zero!

Are any of you running 245/75 16's on 16x8 rims (my current tyres are only 2 months old, so don't want to change them). If so, are there any problems, and do you have any photos?

Every tyre dealer I speak to gives me a different answer. According to a couple of online calculators i've found, they will fit up to 8.5 inch rims, but who knows how reliable these calculators are.

    Thanks
    Geoff

its not your exact situation, but until recently i had 235/85's on 16x8 rims and had a problem with them rolling the bead off the rim at lower pressures off road (22psi)

i have since reverted back to stock disco rims and have had no more problems even at lower pressures

Any issues Ron? Are your tyres muddies or A/T?

Cooper ST. The Cooper Tire website in the USA showed they were suitable for 8" rims. The Aussie Cooper site said they weren't.

I just checked and the US site shows rim widths of 6.5-8" for that tyre and the Aussie site shows 6.5-7.5" I'll go with the US site.

I bought them off AULRO member, dolfn, and he had them on his D2.

I suggest looking at the particular tyre manufacturer's site and seeing what they say.

I've had no problems but nearly all my use has been on-road.

    Thanks Ron.
I checked the manufacturers website, and it doesn't give a fitment range.
If you get some time would it be possible to post a photo of your wheels? Just want to see how upright the sidewall looks on the wider rim.
    Cheers

Look at the rock crawler brand rims. They do a 16x7 with +12mm offset. That will push each wheel out 21mm (total gain of 42mm track). I'm looking at a tyre the next size up (my thread is floating about) and the 16x8's with either +6 or -6mm offset.

Rockcrawlers have a premium over dynamics and kings but are supposed to be very strong. I'm trying to avoid -25mm offsets as I think its going a bit far (my 50mm flexi flares will be pushing to cover it).
