    300tdi Vacuum Pump

Had to share this with you guys. My vacuum pump just died again. Anyway, I order a new one from Ayers Automotive. When it arrives there are 2 gaskets in the box. Why the 2 identical gaskets, I ask. Apparently, packing the pump out with 2 gaskets prolongs the life of the pump significantly.
Just thought others may like to know this little snippet of knowledge too...

I was wondering if you would be able to tell me how much you paid for the Vacuum Pump from Ayres Automotive?

    Cheers, James.

Just repaired mine yesterday with bolts in place of the rivits. When I get a new one, I will replace rivits with bolts before it even gets on the car. Much easier fix than I expected. Just have to change the leaking fuel lift pump now.
