    ...and the next issue....

    heellllllll (ooo) again
    yep.. here is trouble again

well.... as it turns out the new tensioner (timing belt) and pulley (idler) are completely different to what was in there

for one, the old idler has a 5mm rim on the end whereas the new one doesnt (okay, thats fixable by using a washer to compensate)
but the next issue is that the old tensioner appears to not have a slotted washer inside - and if I was to use a massive amount of force to get it out it certainly wouldn't fit into the new tensioner as the new one has a smaller inside diameter..
It also has flanged edges (which I gather is the "new style"?) and a hexagon shape inside where the slotted wahser is supposed to fit in....

so what the hell is going on there?
did I receive the wrong parts (online shop) or do I just need a slotted washer to fit the new tensioner and a spacer to fit behind the idler pulley?

You have been given the old style parts. The new style idler and tensioner have a steel surface the belt runs on and no flanged ends to guide belt. also the tensioner is tightened with a allen key.(sounds like what you took out) The crank pulley for the new style will have flanges around the teeth section to realign belt

i have found when asking for landrover parts , take the bloody part there so you can match them cos half the time you take the parts back and forth untill eventually you recieve the right one. most of the time you get a dumb ass behind the counter not knowing what the hell you are talking about

    ha!
    thanks for that, woko!
Well thats not so good after all....

I do have the crank pulley with the flanged edges in there - but I need to order another set of pulleys.

Can someone clarify the part numbers for me?
I got ERR1972 tensioner and ETC8560 idler pulley which are listed for my VIN, but instead will need LHP100860 tensioner and LHV100150 idler, is that right?

    Thanks again....!!
