The movement sounds suspiciously like the clearance to the lower flywheel cover plate. Have you removed it?
You should have no problem getting the lot out if you cut the bonnet latch panel out like on the rangie.
To set the scene!..
I have a "beautiful" range rover 2 door which ive blown the motor on, and well the gearbox may as well be blown, there isnt a gear that dosent jump out of.
So ive akwired a 95 disco with "hail damage" on it and low kms.
Got it pretty cheap to.. so im ripping the motor gearbox out.(amongs other things.. hav to get mobile first.) and throwing it in the rangie..
I figured considering i want to do clutch ect.. id sepperate the box n TC from the 3.9 HOWEVER ive seperated 10.00 mm and cant get it to come off any further.. any tips.. keeping in mind. ive done this before (not on a disco) i think ive tryed everything..
OR....
Should i just throw it back together and cut the front of the car out and pull it out the front.. is that possible..? ..
