exhaust noise
Hey guys,
I have a real noise coming from my exhaust (new section about 6 months ago. It has been in the garage and they checked it out saying a support bracket had broken off but otherwise all was ok.
I'm wanting to cobble together a temp support but I cannot see where the broken support is.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a diagram to show me where the supports should be so I can see which is missing?
Many thanks
Phil
While I'm on...
I have a very slight leak in the passanger footwell which appears to be from behind the dash. I've seen the threads as to the options for this but is there anything I can check/do without removing the dash?

http://www.rovacraft.com.au/products...arts_A4_lo.pdf
page 28/29 has exhaust diagrams, depending on the model there are rubber mountings which can brake over time..
hope this helps.
good luck!

In regards to the leak behind the dash i would suspect the heater core is the problem... just try removing the two hoses to the core and corking them.
Cheers, James.

Thanks guys,
Grover, it's not the heater core as it's just been replaced. The leak is from where the bonnet release catch is. There was a huge hole there but all is now welded up with new plate and sealed. Will keep an eye on it and try to work it out
Cheers again,
Phil

Ok,
Looked at the mounts and all seems fine but it is defo an exhaust rattle. Any ideas what it may be?
Also, I now this sounds pathetic but I have a new bulb to put behind my aircon switch. I cannot get the switch out to change the bulb, is there a special way to do it?
Cheers in advance guys and gals

I'd start by shaking the exhaust while under the car - and then locating the noise more specific.
Had an annoying exhaust noise myself on "the other car" and it turned out (after rattling and shaking the exhaust and consequently burning myself) to be something loose in the muffler itself... took the whole thing off but unfortunately even a broomstick didnt rectify the problem...

Thanks 94,
Tried shaking but nothing, the garage told me my muffler was loose but I can't find where. Oh well, may take it down Goodyear to have a squiz on the lift
