    how to remove rear pinion flange

    hi all
    i need to know how to remove the rear pioion flange on my 300tdi disco

    with out using the service tool LRT-51-008

    get a straight peice of 15x5mm steel strapping about 1m long drill it to fit the 2 bolts on the long side of the flange bolt up the strap to the flange and then undo the big nut...

    or use a rattle gun.

    or have someone stand on the brakes while you undo it.

    if its the flange on the tcase

    top gear high range CDL in handbrake on and then undo the nut.

    You can extract this pin by installing a long M8 screw with nut trough some spacers and pulling by adjusting the nut. You may need help from hot air gun as this part is fixed with loctite.
