    Auto into a manual

    may have found a 1997 TDI with crook motor and auto box. What is involved to put our 300TDI and r380 box into it if we buy it. That is how hard is it to convert an auto by giving it a 5 speed manual box.

    Off the top of my head;
    Pedal box (Clutch& Brake pedals)
    Clutch Master Cyl and Slave Cyl
    Gearbox X-Member
    Gearshift surround
    Tailshafts. Not sure of length of R380 against ZF Auto.

    Above is only relevant if you don't have a donor vehicle, but engine/gearbox only.

    auto to manual

    i recently converted my d1 v8 from auto to manual
    all real straight forward driveshafts are the same length
    the hardest thing i found was the pedal box assembly i had to remove the steering column and the booster master assembly
    it took me a whole day just to do this!

    I wanted to convert my old 2A to auto, fed up with always changing gear. It was easy, just went and bought an auto D1.
