    '95 D1 swivel assy shims.

    Can anyone please tell me how many top shims there are on, an until now, undisturbed swivel assy?

    It varies according to what is required for the specified preload.

    I always find that when you fit new swivel bearings that you do not need as many shims to get the required preload.Funny that but I have done it AFAIR 6 times with the same result. But it could go the other way.

    I have now had the front end checked by a reputable LR specialist (Sovereign Autos in Adelaide, as recommended by Spudboy) & it appears the radius arm bushes are worn so that has been organised to be done. They will of course check all the other bits as well.
