Thread: Help! Where can I get a CV joint?

"Luck of a Pox Doctor". That's what my father always used to mutter under his breath. Seems I've inherited the same luck.

Long story cut short. Stub axle bearing disintegrated from a lack of lubrication and a loose wheel bearing.

So I'm in the middle of a complete swivel hub rebuild. Everything all nice and clean and shiny. Come to insert the driveshaft and for the first time notice the bearing has chewed up the CV joint bearing surface. Beyond a clean up. How did I miss that whilst actually cleaning the CV.

So I am looking for a CV joint or preferably a complete passenger side axle shaft. And as usual I get into situations over Christmas when everything shuts down.

Anybody on the Gold Coast or Brissie have one lying around or know where I can beg steal or borrow one?
It's a 1996 Disco V8 manual. No abs.

Failing that I need to find a friendly Engineering shop that can maybe clean it up on a lathe.
