    seized engine

After leaving my tdi engine on farm for 1.5 year it seizes to start! on hand cranking through extension bar on front pulley its very hard to crank over even with injectors out!!!! far out . the weird thing is that we had mercedes truck next to it- didnt start for two or three years- it started straight up!!!!! so question is is it stuck valves or rings? I guess i could take rocker cover off and check if valves are not stuck by pushing down on them? if they're ok then i guess it could onlybe rusty bores unless of course its a rat thats died between flywheel bell housing hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha or in the cylinder hahahahahahahahahah. What do people recommend to get it moving????

fill the pots with ATF or diesel through the injector holes then fill the case to the top with ATF/diesel/engine oil doesnt even have to be new stuff. let it sit for a couple of days, drop and replace the normal engine oil, bar it over by hand a dozen turns or so or untill the oil stops spraying out the injector holes crank it on the starter for about a minute then with a good bleed of fresh fuel into the injectors you should be away.

fairly good, thats why you want to turn it over by hand...

its a square block interferance engine, as you turn it over any valves that stick will do so in the open position the piston coming up to meet them will gently tap them back into place, you'll know it when it happens because it will give a not so subtle click as the vavle slams home unrestrained by the closing lobe of the cam. you might get some that dont want to close all the way but they will generally sort themselves out when the oil pressure comes up while you crank it over on the starter with the injectors out.

of more concern is the condition of the timing belt and the ancillary driven stuff.
