    Too hot?

    Hi guys and gals,

Just a quick question about how hot my centre console should get? I have a 95 v8 auto and the short section of metal at the bottom of the shifter gets very hot. Is this normal

    Cheers

Base idle. Get a 3/16 inch allen key, engine idling, insert allen key into little cavity on top of inlet mainfold/throttle body, unscrew 1 or 2 turns. Stop unscrewing when your idle remains near 700rpm without dropping. IAC will take care of the idle from there.

Idle is at 700 all the time , never had an issue with it before. It was when I ce to a atop, the reva would increase to about 1100 and then the engine would die. Lasted about half an hour then all returned to normal!?!

    Cheers,

    Phil

Are your fuel and air filters in good condition? Spark plugs, leads etc etc. Might just need a good service.

Had a Full service about 4 months ago. Was thinking along lines of ht leads so will prob get em changed. In this week as I have no time to change a frame ball joint, will ask em to check fuel filter then. Cheers Ace

    This should fix it.
Just needs a little increase in idle speed
I've had this before when it was hot, slight increase in idle stopped it from hunting up and down.
