Glad I could help mate, i'll be getting the central locking kit as soon as I tick a few other more important things off the list. Gotta go all over mine and do all the bushes and then get an oil leak sorted.

You'll get there, just chip away at it.

Sounds like there is a dead switch of some description in the circuit for the interior light somewhere. I take it you have checked the fuse? I have found that the biggest cause of niggling headaches and issues with cars is caused by dodgy back yard wiring. Work your way through the wiring and do a tidy up. If you have removed everything you feel you safely can then tidy the rest up. If need be snip out some wires and put longer stuff in to located it all neatly in the engine bay and invest in some good connectors. Then get some cable ties to tidy everything up.

I cant find my RAVE CD so I cant check out the wiring diagram for the interior light but there has to be something in the system that isn't quite right, im sure you'll find it, and when you do it will have been staring you in the face all along and you'll be kicking yourself for missing it. Im no expert with auto electrics, its my weakest point when working on cars, but being methodical is the only way to get to the bottom of the issue.

Thanks Ace. At least mine doesn't have an oil leak (yet)
Today I tried to identify where the cable comes out that goes in under the roof. Checked behind the glove box and under the steering wheel. It looks like there are 100s of different cables and it's a bit beyond my capabilities so I will have it checked when the car goes for service next. I'll just carry a torch for the moment. Once again many thanks for all the help!
