Sean, I'm sure the auto one will fit and still allow dual batteries. OR, as you suggest just remove the cooler lines and fit a blanking plate to the trans extension housing, these are available.

Hi guys,
I've been putting this off for a couple of years now, but I need a new radiator for my Disco.
Now, I've done the research and will be going for a standard V8 Rad I reckon, my problem though, is that my Disco has manual transmission cooler lines going to the radiator. All the radiator people I've spoken to are a little peplexed by this. None of the listed manual radiators have any cooler line provisions. The Auto rads are actually about 20mm longer than the manuals and even though the mountings line up, the dual batteries may be an issue.
My question is, can Isimply just, should I just cap the oil lines at the box and be done with it? Should I get an auto rad (will there be enough flow?) or should I get a manual rad and have it plumbed?
Vehicle is a 1995 post update Rossignol - these are fully imported by the way.
Regards,
Sean.

Thanks Justin, I'm thinking that blanking the gearbox may be the way to go, but then, sticking to factory and replumbing a manual rad is probably the most sensible, and most expensive.

Sean.
Why not fit the LH tank with the cooler in it to the new manual core?
I'm assuming you are fitting a new core, not a whole new radiator? IME the aftermarket radiator tanks aren't as good as genuine, but cores are quite OK.

Find yourself some one that knows radiators. are you going to rad places because of cost? in regards to a proper radiator for land rovers.May be get a genuine one from o/s

My radiator out of my manual 95 (update) disco is sitting at Natrads in Brisbane getting re-cored to 4 row 11mm tube, the trans cooler tank shouldn't effect the recore, just take it to a joint that know what they are doing.
I took it to a Pommy bloke who's a radiator specialist,
I thought he may know what he was talking about, he quoted around $800 or so for a recore.
G'day Frank, I'm hanging to get out, need to get thi radiator sorted first though.
