    TPS again?

    Tell me it isn't so.

I think the TPS I fitted two months back is a dud.

I replaced the original TPS as I was getting surging on a light throttle. The surging went away with the new repalcement TPS. Britpart I think was the make.

Lately, well actually only happened three times, if a put my foot down more than usual, say half way down, accelerating quite hard, it will just die. It will stay like that until I move the accelerator pedal. Then it will charge on like normal.

I usually drive on a very light throttle, gawd it's heavy enough on fuel, so I don't know how long it's been like this.

Otherwise she runs fine. Idle tends to hang a bit when hot, but hopefully the new idle valve I have ordered will solve that.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

heavy fuel usage could be over fueling, have you checked the MAF , pull the plugs and see if they are black - Over fueling unburnt fuel, is your exhaust pipe real sooty? unburnt fuel.
Also Check the vaccum hoses at the rear of the plenum for air leaks.
and as for britpart, hearing a few reports in the game about sub quality ?

I went thru the whole system again and couldn't find anything wrong.
Plugs look good. MAF setting is exactly where I left it.

The intial reading on the TPS was 0.34v exactly as I set it when I put it in. However as I slowly opened the throttle the reading would increase until about half throttle where it suddenly dropped to 0.09V. A few tests repeated this.

Swopped the TPS and the problem disappeared.

So now to see if I can get it replaced under warranty.

In Afrikaans there is a saying "Goedkoop is duur koop" basically going cheap costs more in the long term.

Thinking about it now so far I have only had problems with non genuine LR parts.
