replacement pipes
Hi all, probably a stupid question but as i'm unsure, thought I'd ask.
I need to replace several hoses under the bonnet, one is the power steering hose and the other is the coolant hose directly abopve it at the front passenger side directly ontop of the chassis. My question is where do I get them from and are they specific? for example, do I call CLR and just describe or should I ask for a specific thing? Also, I have a section of piping on the top of the engine which I believe is coolant again which is held in place by 2 jubilees. it is about 5 cm long and a large diamerter in comparrison. Again, where can I source this? SCA etc.. have water pipes but all seem too small (ditto for pipe from IAc to throttle mech.
Cheers and apologies if this is a simple/stupid question. I'm a little reluctant to change these as I don't really want to have to drain the systems but on the other hand am too cheap to pay for someone to do it.
P
edit, looks like may be cheaper than expected... the power steering hose seems to be leaking from the jubilee on the underside of the resevoir so I'll try and tighten it first. The coolant is from the lower pass side of the radiator so that's the hose I'll need.

Hoses without specific bends and secured with hose clamps can be replaced fairly easily. For the power steering delivery hose (not the high pressure ones) you can go to Enzed or an equivalent supplier and get some hi temp hose and some new clamps. If you have an auto, the coolant hoses can also be replaced by high temp hoses and clamps once you grind the swaged ends off. Get the proper replacements for coolant hoses.

Hi again all,
Just after clarification on what is what.
I seem to have stopped the power steering leak but it appears that I need to replace both pipes that run along the side of the sump.
One is from the bottom of the radiator and the other goes along the front bumper (so to speak) both have the tube middle with the metal pipe ends.
I assume one is the collant system but what is the other and how hard are they to replace?
Cheers,
Phil

Phil, they are the ZF oil cooler hoses. If you call Gary at CLR he knows what is required and AFAIK has them in stock. They are on his ebay offerings AFAIK. This seems very common with your model yst my Vbelt RRC ones are dry( at the moment)
If I recall one of you engine oil cooler pipes was weeping also (RH side into rad tank from oil pump). He will have that.
You just have to say you have a 94 Disco with Serpentine and he will know.
Re the water pipe on top of the engine . This will have a part number but really a bit can be cut from any water hose and put there. If you have the time to come to my place I should be able to find a bit. It was only because you said you were going to have it serviced and those bits fixed that I didn't offer.
Regards Philip A
if you plan to go on any long trips IMHO it would be wise to replace all of the radiator and heater hoses as they all looked original and very geriatric. I am sure CLR would do a kit including all the heater and radiator hoses.
