Thread: Clutch Heavy Vrs Standard

Hi,
My trusty Tdi 1997 is getting close to requiring a neew clutch, have been looking around and see you can get standard or heavy clutch kits, my questions is which would be the right one to get? will the wife be able toi drive with a heavy clutch?

mainly i enjoy light 4WDing in the bush and pulling my camper trailer all over the place,

any ideas or experince with these clutchs?

yep, I woud go with the HD clutch too, especially if towing and going offroad.

My Disco had a heavy duty clutch, which came to the end of its life and needed replacing...the mechanic put in a standard clutch asuming I would want the cheaper option...sure, it has worked fine 99% of the time, but I did prefer the heavy clutch...with my tdi sometimes I need to ride the clutch when towing the camper trailer up a hill from a standing start.....and thats not a time where you like having a standard clutch.
