G'day all, i,m looking for some advice, someone has probarly asked this sort of thing before, but i could'nt find anything in the threads. i have a 96 v8 disco that is suffering vibration at speed. it drives perfectly until you pass 95kmh ,then it starts vibrating through the steering wheel and the body(you can feel it in the floor) the faster i go the worse it gets, soon as i drop below 95kmh its fine again, it does'nt seem to matter how rough or smooth the road is. i have recently replaced the cv joints, the tie rod ends, steering damper, panhard bushes, radius arm bushes, wheel bearings, i have had the wheels balanced (which is what it feels like to me) 3 times, then i got new tyres, then i swaped the back rims to the front and had them rebalanced. when i did the cv's i checked the swivels and they seemed fine, then last sat i did the tie rod ends ,and checked the swivels again while they were disattached, and they seemed nice and firm, no leaks. i don't know where to look next, any ideas, lol, thanks.....rick

Have you checked the rubber doughnut coupling on the propshaft as they are a known to cause vibration when they wear. Sounds like you have checked the swivel preload but here is a good how to just in case. Land Rover Forum
Have you checked the front and rear wheel bearings? Front is easy just lifting front wheels off the ground. Rear requires the same and loosing off the axle bolts. Strangely there seems to be a lot of Mechanics out there who say you never need to check the rear. When I put my rear maxi drive shafts in I found mine needed adjusting, got rid of my vibration. So are they right or lazy?
I would be checking the Uni-Joints on the tailshafts, esp. the front, actually I wouldn't drive it again till you have checked the Uni's, failure of the front uni/tailshaft can have expensive consequences, Regards Frank.
Check Uni's as mentioned and Donut, but also have a look at engine mounts,also transfer , gearbox mounts, if shot the faster you go the more torque and the engine might be off centre?
if its not the uni's it may be the actual prop shafts being out of balance.
