Thread: door locks

Not on a D1 unless someone has fitted a fancy aftermarket alarm.

It's a user option on the D2, it's called speed lock.

I have a 98 300tdi with a key only lock and at times it seems the central locking has a mind of its own.

of late the doors will lock when I wind down the front driver's window. Other times they will lock when I hit a bump. I know I need to fix the right rear door lock as this no longer works on central locking and there are probably a few electric quirks to look at.

I just put it down to being a unique landy trait that mine will do what no one else's does and it makes me chuckle each time something new pops up

i'd suggest something is not right with the linkages & catching the window and/or channel when it's moved.

Pop the door trim off & have a look to see what's going on.

I know I need to fix the right rear door lock as this no longer works on central locking

yep mine does the same, although if you lock/unlock a couple of times one after the other it will start to work again

That's the plan I just got to get off the lazy backside and have a look.

Hehehe, the fault with the drivers side pass door must by now have it's own 'Trouble Shooting' section in the manual as mine too is just starting to play up

Still my rear wagon door does need some attention as the lock will pop when you use the remote but won't stay up, hence you have to use the key to unlock it. Which brings me to my question, I've heard you can use a door trim tool to pop the trim off, but can anyone tell me where to purchase one of these tools, or how much it is likely to cost???
