Not on a D1 unless someone has fitted a fancy aftermarket alarm.
It's a user option on the D2, it's called speed lock.
i have been wondering for a while now and i have seen a recent mention of it in the forum.
does the central locking 'automatically lock' at a certain speed after getting in?
when i picked up my disco i thought it did it but since than it hasn't at all.
my '95 300TDi disco only has the keyed central locking.
i would like to know if it does and how to fix it if possible

I have a 98 300tdi with a key only lock and at times it seems the central locking has a mind of its own.
of late the doors will lock when I wind down the front driver's window. Other times they will lock when I hit a bump. I know I need to fix the right rear door lock as this no longer works on central locking and there are probably a few electric quirks to look at.
I just put it down to being a unique landy trait that mine will do what no one else's does and it makes me chuckle each time something new pops up

yep mine does the same, although if you lock/unlock a couple of times one after the other it will start to work againI know I need to fix the right rear door lock as this no longer works on central locking
thanks everyone for the input![]()
Hehehe, the fault with the drivers side pass door must by now have it's own 'Trouble Shooting' section in the manual as mine too is just starting to play up
Still my rear wagon door does need some attention as the lock will pop when you use the remote but won't stay up, hence you have to use the key to unlock it. Which brings me to my question, I've heard you can use a door trim tool to pop the trim off, but can anyone tell me where to purchase one of these tools, or how much it is likely to cost???
The trim tool you can get from tool shops (all tools, total tools, repco etc etc) the wagon door is a faulty spring on the lock mechanism you can buy the whole new lock mech or get on ebay and buy a replacement spring set (covers all 5 doors) with instructions how to do it for about $8 plus postage. The linkages on the wagon door are plentiful but easy enough to do. I did mine in the dark before i headed out for easter no probs since then.
