    Intermittent loss of power

    Hi All,
I am having intermittent loss of power on my '97 auto V8 Disco 1 with 160K, apart from this engine runs very well with good fuel consumption (for a Disco V8). I replaced spark plugs, drove from Newcastle to Byron and back, then had issues after this.
It feels more electrical than fuel blockage as it can be either under load or not, uphill or downhill and it merely hiccups 3 or 4 times then continues on its merry way (however it does not splutter or surge).
Dash warning lights do not come on.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

How old are the ignition leads?
Since you have done the plugs they might have cracked a bit here and there and are loosing insulation.

    Hey,

Had a similar issue years ago on a previous car. It turned out to be the HT leads which were earthing on something. I temp fixed it by wraopping them in insulating tape until I could afford to change them. I also had an issue on my V8 after changing the HT leads which was a bad connection of a cable onto the coil.

    Good luck

if it is at a specific rev range then it is probably the ignition module - if it is do your self a favor and check out Bee Uteys very informative step by step on how to swap to a bosch one
