The only thing the Bosch alternator will need (except if you have an XE-XF Falcon type, they have this connection already) is for you to open it up and solder a piece of wire to one of the three stator solder joints. You need this for the tacho connection (white/grey stripe wire in loom). Other than that its just a case of making it fit. Post 1989 alternators with the 2 pin plug on the regulator can be used too, just loop the +12V sensor wire from the plug to the alternator output terminal. This is a common trick to use VN Commodore alternators on earlier Holdens.
