    Front window problems

    Hi all,

Having a problem with my front drivers window. Problem started about 2 weeks ago.

About 50% of the time the window wont go down, but 100% of the time it will go up. No funny noises or anything. Just seems dead half the time when trying to lower the window.

Have tried different switches, but that's not the problem.

Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem might be?

    Cheers
    Geoff

could be a dry solder joint on the window ecu, but this is normally rear window effected. But it could happen to fronts. being intermittant.
do a search the repair is simple the ECU is behind the glovebox compartment. fiddly to get to and remove but we've all done it ok.

Yeh, I also did the ecu dry solder joint repair a couple of months ago to fix the rear windows. Worked perfectly. Wasn't aware that the same ecu also controlled the front windows.

ECU dry solder joint, it's like a right of passage owning a Disco 1 I think Just check out on the internet for a photo of what to look for if you're not sure (that's what I did) and then get out the ECU that controls the windows and have a look. Pretty simple fix and that's probably what it is.
